Meadow Lark Farm Dinner This year, we've added an evening dedicated to craft beers to our calendar, and we can't wait to prepare a menu dedicated to these special brews. Lauren Shepard of Shelton Brothers Importers will be at the dinner to explain the rich history and craftmanship behind each of the beers on the table. This promises to be an insightful evening with tastes of rare and unusual Old World farhouse beers.
Shelton Brothers Importers was founded in 1996 to introduce Americans to a beer steeped in history and tradition, the Cantillon lambic. Since then, they’ve added beers and ciders from all over the world to a diverse portfolio of over 300 products, most of which are hand-made in very small batches. The Shelton Brothers focus is on simple, dry, well-made beers with a story to tell. A good number of these beers have been made by the same families for the past century. They’ve withstood the modern industrialization of both process and product; remaining rustic and elegant, unsweetened and unpasteurized. To complement the bounty of the Colorado summer, we’ve chosen to highlight beers with an agrarian past. Beer has historically been brewed to help farm-laborers through the heat and hard-work of the summer. We’ll feature beers from family breweries in Belgium, France, Germany, and Sweden. Their beers are meant to be enjoyed by those who work with the land—and most of these brewers still do! From one family’s kitchen garden to another brewery’s house-grown and malted barley, these breweries have a connection to the land and the stories it has to tell. |
