About this summer...

Dear Friends,
I think many of us are feeling a little off-kilter lately, between a winter that never really "wintered" and the state of the world. But I can feel Spring coming on and I can't help but feel joyous for the promise of longer days and fresh green things popping out of the ground.
I’ve been sitting with this email for a while, unsure quite how to say it. Most mornings I venture into Boulder's Open Spaces for a good walk with my dog. And lately, the meadowlarks have become abundant. I can see their little yellow bellies lining the fences and shrubbery. Usually their's is a cheerful song - reminding me of summer - but right now it feels a bit more insistent (and loud), as if they’re asking me, “Well? What’s the plan?”
So, here it is.
Last year marked my fifth season as owner and Meadow Lark’s 17th year in business. It was a truly beautiful season (dramatic weather and all) and it left me feeling incredibly grateful - for this work, for the land, and for all of you who have shown up year after year.
With that in mind, it is time for us to take a summer off.
This pause feels important. A moment to rest, to reset, and to make space for whatever comes next.
In the meantime, I hope your summer is full of farmers’ markets, overflowing produce, and long, lingering meals with people you love. Please continue to support your local farmers and food community. They are the heart of all of this, and of what Meadow Lark has always been about.
Thank you, truly, for your support over the years. It has meant more than I can ever properly put into words.
We’ll keep you posted on Bella’s whereabouts in 2027.
Happy spring, and wishing you a beautiful summer ahead.
